The Flea Market
Today I woke up to learn that I had missed the NASCAR race last night. But then Dad and I flipped through channels on the TV until we found the F1 race. We watched that and then headed out to go to a flea market on the other side of town. We had intended to get there on the bus, but had more difficulty than expected getting tickets, so we took a nice walk instead. On our way we saw a big Piazza full of posters supporting the environment, some of them were really cool. When we had walked past the roman gate called Porta Palatine, we saw some market stalls. We walked into the market, and to our surprise it was packed and had garbage everywhere. When we got out, we had to take a deep breath to recover. We were about to give up when we went a little further and saw what we were looking for. It was rather nice once we got there. We saw all kinds of stuff (including an old Fiat 500), and mom got some linens, and Hailey got clothes. At lunch we went to a small pizza place and had pizza and kebabs. We were told to sit at a table for two. We took up most of the restaraunt space. We then continued through the massive maze of antiques. Many streets were closed and filled with stalls. At one point we saw a large weather baloon taking off. Then, near the end, Dad and I spotted a box filled with car badges, and all of us boys got one. Griffin and dad got Alfa Romeos and I got a Citroën badge. We checked out a few more stalls and headed back. We walked back home and had a pretty calm and gentle evening. I'll post again soon.
